Here's the story behind this charcoal drawing of mine...

During a season of my life when I was very stressed out, even in and out of the hospital with heart issues, I was praying to God one day, pressing in hard, seeking Him for help; and I had a vision of myself and an eagle that represented me.

The eagle was not in the skies soaring where it belonged, or even perched on a high place in safety. It was grounded, in danger; weak and tired.

In this vision I saw that as I worshipped the Lord and connected with God intimately in the Secret Place, the eagle gained strength and motivation to RISE UP.

As I worshipped the Lord, completely surrendering all, the eagle began to battle against the ground. It was floundering, fluttering violently, wings flailing wildly trying to RISE UP and FLY!

I continued to worship God, and the eagle began to climb the air until it could get wind beneath its wings. Once it caught the wind of God’s presence, it rose straight up into the air.

Then the Lord spoke to me and said, "I will strengthen you".

Isaiah 40:29-30 says “God gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increases strength... but they that WAIT UPON THE LORD the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

The Hebrew word for “wait” is “qâvâh”. The definition according to the concordance is “to wait, look for, hope, expect, to wait or look eagerly for, to linger for.”

In my experience, WORSHIP IN THE SECRET PLACE IS THE DEFINITION TO "WAIT UPON THE LORD". When I go into worship, I press in until I contact God. I wait there in the Secret Place until He manifests to me. I linger in worship until I see Him, or feel His heavy tangible presence pressing upon me... until all my worries are melted away and all darkness is dispersed by His shining light. I hope for it when I worship, I expect Him to come to me. I usually do NOT leave that place until I tapped into Him through worship. THIS is what “wait upon the Lord” means.

So many Christians believe it means to wait and do nothing... just believe the Lord will come and fix things while they are not surrendering their time, energy and life to worship God; but that is not what "to wait on the Lord" means.

The reason I got so stressed out during that season of my life, is because I put other things before the Lord. I abandoned the Secret Place of worship. I fell from the air where I had been soaring. I grew weak in spirit, thus weak in soul, mind and body. Connection with God is life and energy. Intimacy with the Lord is what makes you soar above the demonic storms of life.

Worship God every day. Find a place in your house where you can shut the door and not be disturbed. In the morning I go to my balcony and at night I lock myself in the bathroom. I don’t care how important your life is, nothing is more important than God. Surrender your time, your family, and all that is important to you and give yourself to God in worship. Give it all to God and you will soar.

"NOT BY MIGHT, NOT BY POWER, BUT BY MY SPIRIT" SAYS THE LORD! The Lord keeps bringing a dream back to me that I had several years ago. The dream didn't make sense then, but it certainly applies now. I
